Large Daffodil designed by:
(Winner of the Design-a-Daffodil competition, in the 10-16 year old category).
Glazed by: Helen Ratcliffe
Nia Griffiths is eleven years old and a pupil at Morland Church of England Primary School. Morland is a few miles from Lowther. Of her daffodil design, she writes:
‘My daffodil represents the world and its elements: fire, water, earth, night, day and air/wind. In the centre of the flower, the world is opening up the elements as the daffodil comes into blossom.
‘Without these elements the world wouldn’t function properly and there would be no flowers, so no daffodils…’
Proceeds from the sale of Nia’s daffodil will go to the charity Papyrus
